Don’t Miss These Exciting Weekend Events

This weekend in Caledon East, you have a choice between two events that are both family-friendly, yet very different in nature.

Beginning on Saturday at 10 in the morning, the Caledon Hills Studio Tour will see local artists show their work in leather, glass, acrylics, mixed media, photography, oils, wood, stone, pottery and jewellery.

Although the Caledon Hills Studio Tour encompasses all of Caledon, there is a featured local artist as well as several sponsors right in Caledon East. This means you won’t have to stray too far to see some of these fascinating works of art.

The name of the local artist is Randy McLeod and he has a studio with wood turned vessels right on 15717 Airport Road, a short distance from our Presentation Centre. Pay him a quick visit to show your family good local art.

(As a side fact, local sponsors include The Consulate, the same restaurant we partnered with to launch a sweepstake on our Facebook page in June. Looks like they like to support local events in addition to preparing amazing food!)

The next event is called the 4th Annual C3 Kinetico Running Festival and takes place on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm.

As the name suggests,  this a sporting event. It consists of two races—a  1-mile run for kids and two for adults, one of which is 5 km long. The second one is 10 km long.

In addition to getting children out and allowing them to have lots of fun, event organizers will distribute free t-shirts, medals, posters and a post-race meal.

Designed to get families out and allow active children to participate in a world-class sporting event at no cost to their families, the C3 Kinetico Running Festival requires registration.

The Festival begins in the Caledon City Hall at Old Church Road. Check this site for more info, and let us know how it went!
